ADRIAN, Mich.—The
Adrian College softball team was shutout by the
visiting Olivet College Comets in a single-game
make-up on Sunday afternoon, 0-7.
The Bulldogs managed three hits
against OC starter and struck out six times as
a lineup. Freshman centerfielder Krissy Sheets
was 2-for-2 with a pair of singles and was hit
by a pitch. Carly Toth had the other Bulldog hit
and was 1-for-3.
Andrea Vangoss got the loss in
the circle for Adrian, going all six innings and
allowing one earned run on nine hits, striking
out four and walking three.
Adrian trailed just 2-0 going
into the bottom of the fourth inning when a two-out
rally by the Comets, sparked by two AC errors,
resulted in the final five runs of the game.
The Bulldogs are now 15-11 overall
and 4-8 in the MIAA. They will next host Saint
Mary’s College on Monday, April 30, at 3:30
p.m.
