ADRIAN, Mich.— The Adrian
College softball team fell twice to the visiting
Tri-State University Thunder on Saturday afternoon,
3-8 and 5-6.
The Bulldogs held a 5-2 advantage in game two,
but allowed four unanswered runs in the final
three innings to drop to 15-10 on the year and
4-7 in the MIAA. Krissy Sheets continued her offensive
tear, going 2-for-4 in game two with a run. The
freshman also made several spectacular plays in
centerfield during the twinbill.
Meghan Stevens was 3-of-4 with two runs. Jen
Demaree and Meghan Lohr put AC in the lead when
they drove back-to-back homeruns to leftfield
in the second inning. Demaree plated two with
her blast. Carly Toth also performed well in game
two, going 2-for-4.
Seven Bulldog errors did in their chances of
a split, while Andrea Vangoss went six innings,
allowing three earned runs on nine hits with a
strike out and three walks.
In game one, the Thunder jumped out to a 7-0
lead before Adrian plated two int eh bottom of
the fourth inning on a Stevens home run to left
center. Stevens drove in three in all in game
one, going 2-for-3. Lohr and Emily McLane were
both 1-for-3.
Lindsay Mandeville fell in game one, going all
seven inngs and allowing eight earned runs on
12 hits with two K’s and two free passes.
