AC Softball swept by MIAA leaders
Mandeville delivers fine showing in game one

ALMA, Mich.—The Adrian College softball team was swept in a Friday twinbill at Alma College, losing 0-4 and 4-11 to the MIAA-leading Scots.

The Bulldogs were held to just three hits in game one, with freshman centerfielder Krissy Sheets going 2-for-3. Sophomore pitcher Lindsay Mandeville pitched impressively, going all six innings and allowing four earned runs on nine hits with four K’s and two walks.

In game two, Carmen Batway led Adrian with three RBI, going 1-for-3. Carly Toth also drove in a run in a 2-for-2 performance. Junior right-hander Andrea Vangoss went all seven innings, allowing nine earned runs on 16 hits with two walks.

The Bulldogs are 15-8 overall and 4-5 in the MIAA. Adrian will host Tri-State University tomorrow (Saturday) at 1 p.m. and Olivet in a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
