Two
wins for Bulldogs over Albion
Demaree homers twice, drives
in six vs. Britons
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The
Adrian College softball team had a very offensive
afternoon on Monday, putting up 26 runs on the
Albion College Britons in a two-game sweep on
the Adrian campus.
Adrian
won game one 11-3 and then ran away with game
two 15-8.
Sophomore
catcher Jen Demaree blasted two home runs, one
in each game and added a double, driving in six
runs against the Britons. Freshman leftfielder
Carly Toth also had two dingers, driving in three
runs and scoring three herself. Freshman centerfielder
Krissy Sheets was 5-for-7, and is now hitting
.549 on the year, best in the MIAA. She drove
in three runs and scored two with a double.
Jenna
Kloster was 3-for-7 with a home run and a double,
driving in four runs and scoring three. Katie
Kilimas had two doubles, while Carmen Batway was
2-for-4 with a home run. Lindsay Tomasak also
added a home run and was 3-for-5 on the afternoon.
Junior
right-hander Andrea Vangoss earned the win in
both games for Adrian and is now 9-3 on the season.
She pitched a total of 9 2/3 innings with two
strike outs and allowing five earned runs on 11
hits with six walks and a home run.
Sophomore
right-hander Lindsay Mandeville went the first
2 1/3 innings of game two and allowed four earned
runs on six hits with a walk and a homer.
The
Bulldogs are now 15-5 overall and 4-3 in MIAA
play. They will next travel to Alma for a 3:30
game against the first-place Scots.
