Adrian sweeps Bluffton in
Friday twin bill
Vangoss picks up pair of wins over Beavers
BLUFFTON,
Ohio—The
Adrian College softball team earned two wins at
Bluffton University on Friday afternoon, winning
7-1 and 7-6.
The Bulldogs now have 59 stolen bases on the 2007
season, breaking the previous record of 56, set
during the 2000 season.
In
the non-conference double-header, Krissy Sheets
headlined the Adrian attack in game one, going
4-for-5 with two runs and a triple. Carmen Batway
was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Carly
Toth and Katie Kilimas each drove in a pair of
runs.
Andrea
Vangoss got the win in game one, going all seven
innings and allowing one unearned run on five
hits with one strike outs and three walks.
In
game two, Sheets again smacked a triple and scored
two runs in a 2-for-4 performance. Batway drove
in four runs, going 1-for-3 with a run, while
Meghan Stevens was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a double.
Toth had her second double of the day in game
two, driving in a run and scoring two runs.
Vangoss
earned her second win of the day in game two,
pitching the final 4.2 innings and allowing two
earned runs on eight hits with a K and a walk.
Lindsay Mandeville went the first 2.1 innings,
allowing four earned runs on seven hits with a
strike out.
The
Bulldogs are now 13-6 on the season and will next
host Albion College on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
