Dutch sweep Adrian softball
Batway goes 4-for-6 in twin bill
HOLLAND,
Mich.—The
Adrian College softball team fell 1-9 and 5-13
at Hope College on Tuesday afternoon, dropping
to 2-3 in the MIAA.
The
Bulldogs managed just two hits in game one at
Buys Field. Krissy Sheets was 1-for-3, while Carmen
Batway went 1-for-2.
Lindsay
Mandeville slipped to 6-3 on the season after
allowing eight earned runs on 15 hits in game
one. She struck out one in 5 2/3 innings of work.
In
the night cap, Sheets led Adrian with a 3-for-4
performance, two runs and a double. Batway went
3-for-4 with two RBI, a run and a double, while
Meghan Stevens was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a
home run.
Andrea
Vangoss was tagged with the loss in game two and
is now 5-3. She went all seven innings, allowing
12 earned runs on 14 hits with three K’s
and seven walks.
Adrian
is now 11-6 overall and will travel to Calvin
College on Thursday for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
