ADRIAN, Mich.—The
Adrian College softball team split a Thursday
double-header with Defiance College with a 10-2
win in game one before falling 4-12 in game two.
Game one saw AC put six runs across
in the bottom of the sixth to end the game via
the mercy rule. Krissy Sheets was 3-for-3 with
two RBI and two runs. Jenna Kloster had three
RBI in a 2-of-3 performance. Jen Demaree added
two RBI, going 2-for-3 with two runs and a double,
while Carmen Batway scored two on a double.
Lindsay Mandeville earned her
sixth win of the season (6-1), going six inning
and allowing just one earned run on four hits
with a strike outs and two walks.
Defiance took game two, putting
eight runs across in the first five innings. Adrian
managed a run in each of the first four innings,
but could muster no more offense in the final
three frames. Batway and Katie Kilimas each had
RBI in the second game. Batway was 2-for-3 with
a double, while Kilimas homered to lead off the
bottom of the second.
Andrea Vangoss got the loss in
game two and is now 5-2 on the year. She allowed
seven earned runs on nine hits with a K and four
walks.
The Bulldogs return to action
on Tuesday (April 3) when they travel to Alma
to rejoin MIAA play at 2-0 in the conference.
