Lohr leads Bulldogs to sweep of Hornets
Freshman short stop drives in nine run in two
wins
KALAMAZOO,
Mich.—The Adrian College softball
team got off to a good start in the MIAA with
a Sunday sweep at Kalamazoo College; 7-5 and 12-3.
Freshman
short stop Meghan Lohr burst onto the scene with
nine RBI on the day with three home runs, a triple
and a double in the twin bill. She finished 5-for-7
and scored five runs on the afternoon. Lohr had
six RBI in the second game alone.
Lindsay
Mandeville got the win in game one, going all
seven innings and giving up four earned runs on
eight hits with two walks and two strike outs.
Andrea Vangoss won game two after going five innings
and allowing two earned runs on three hits with
two K’s and a walk.
Carmen
Batway added three RBI on the day with two doubles.
The
Bulldogs are 2-0 in the MIAA, 6-2 overall. Adrian
will travel to Concordia University in Ann Arbor
on Monday for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
