O’Keefe
saves Adrian at Albion, 2-2
ALBION,
Mich.—The
Adrian College men’s soccer team earned
a 2-2 draw at Albion College on Wednesday afternoon
on the strength of a fine performance by senior
goalkeeper Ryan O’Keefe.
After
two first-half Briton goals, O’Keefe stopped
a penalty kick in the second half to keep the
Bulldogs within one score. Brian Bain scored
off a Matt Evans assist late in the first half
to give Adrian their first goal.
Dusty
Kendall knotted the count at two, scoring his
second goal of the season, unassisted in the
74th minute, going top shelf to beat Briton
keeper Dan Putnam.
At
the end of two overtimes the score remained
2-2.
Adrian,
once again, made the most of their few shots,
converting two of their three shots on goal.
Albion had 21 shots with 14 on net, but O’Keefe
turned away 12 of those shots, including five
in the second extra period.
The
Bulldogs are now 2-13-4 overall and 2-7-4 in
the MIAA. Adrian will host conference-leading
Hope College in their season finale on Saturday
at 6 p.m. at the Performance Stadium.
