beaten by Comet hat trick
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The
Adrian College men’s soccer team fell
3-1 to the Olivet Comets on Wednesday night
at the Performance Stadium.
Josh
VanWagner registered a hat trick for the Comets,
scoring right before halftime, unassisted, then
three minutes into the second half off of a
Andrew Evans assist. He closed out the OC scoring
on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
Nate
Bauer put Adrian on the board with five minutes
remaining, scoring unassisted from 25 yards
out. Ryan O’Keefe had eight saves for
AC, while Justyn Bensett had two shots on goal.
The
Bulldogs were out shot 15-7 and had three corner
kicks to Olivet’s five.
Adrian
is now 2-10-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the MIAA.
Olivet is 4-10 overall and 4-5 in league play.
The
Bulldogs will travel to Alma on Saturday for
a 2 p.m. game with the Scots.
