Bulldogs
stick it to Scots, 4-2
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The
Adrian College men’s soccer team won
their second consecutive game on Tuesday
night at the Performance Stadium, defeating
Alma College, 4-2.
Eric
Drake willed the Bulldogs to victory, recording
two assists and a goal, while Sean Dillon,
Nate Bauer, and Brian Bain each added goals
and Mike Prud’homme was credited with
an assist.
Frankie
Brun scored both of the Scots’ goals,
one on an assist from Dan Laatz.
Adrian
opened the scoring in the 15th minute when
Dillon powered a shot past James Thomson.
Four minutes later Nate Bauer scored off
a Drake miss to put the hosts up by two.
Brun brought Alma to within one after a
defensive lapse in the 21st minute by the
Bulldogs, but less than a minute later Brian
Bain gave the Bulldogs another two-goal
advantage off Prud’homme’s assist.
Drake’s
second-half goal came in the 69th minute,
finishing off of a long assist from Merwin.
Brun closed out the game’s scoring,
beating AC’s Ryan O’Keefe for
the second time at the 81-minute mark.
O’Keefe
had six saves for Adrian, while Thomson
had five for Alma (1-5, 0-3 MIAA)
The
Bulldogs are now 2-5 on the year and 2-1
in the MIAA. They will host Calvin College
on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Performance Stadium.
