Marry named Player of the Week on Special Teams
ADRIAN,
Mich.—Adrian
College’s Taz Wallace and AJ Marry have been
named MIAA Players of the Week for their efforts in
the Bulldogs’ 28-45 loss at Alma College on
Saturday.
Wallace,
playing in his final college game, totaled 18 tackles
against the Scots. He ends his career with 429 total
tackles and an average of 13.41 tackles per game in
his career. That makes him the most prolific tackler
in the NCAA Division III history. The previous record
for tackles-per game was Casey McConnell of Kenyon
College with 13.28 tackles per game from 2001 to 2005.
Marry
blocked two punts in his final Adrian College game
while also totaling 10 tackles on the afternoon. He
made two stops for lost yardage as well. The Hudson
native totaled 49 tackles in seven games after missing
the first three games of the season due to injury.
The
Bulldogs ended the 2006 campaign at 5-5 overall and
4-3 in the MIAA.
