Bulldogs sweep MIAA
Player of the Week honors
ADRIAN, Mich.-- The
Adrian College Bulldogs’ overtime victory
which propelled them to 3-0 on the season led
to a sweep of the MIAA Player of the Week honors
for football. Three
AC football players earned honors for their
performances on offense, defense, and special
teams for their win against Huntingdon College
(Ala.) on Saturday.
Offensive
Player of the Week: Mike McGee
Freshman
quarterback Mike McGee of Columbus, Ohio (Brookhaven
HS) scored two touchdowns and threw touchdown
passes for two more, including the game-winner
in overtime. He completed 12-of-23 passes for
180 yards.
Defensive
Player of the Week: Ward Ritter
Senior
end Ward Ritter of Rockwood (Oscar A. Carlson
HS) was credited with 11 tackles, including
seven solos. He had 3.5 tackles for lost yardage
and two quarterback sacks.
Special
Teams Player of the Week: Joseph Beehler
Sophomore
Joe Beehler of Wakarusa, Ind. (Penn HS) averaged
41.5 yards on four kickoff returns, including
a long of 69 yards.
The
Bulldogs open the conference portion of their
schedule when they travel to Kalamazoo College
on Saturday, September 29 for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off.
