ADRIAN, Mich.— Adrian College’s senior linebacker Tavarski “Taz” Wallace and junior punt returner D.J. Howard have been named pre-season All-Americans by D3Football.com.

Both named to the second team of the squad, Wallace and Howard appear on their second All-American list this pre-season, having been named to Street & Smith’s first team in June.

Wallace is Adrian College’s all-time leader in tackles and a two-time first-team All-MIAA performer. He led the nation in tackles with 155 as a sophomore in 2004 and had 133 stops a year ago, including 11.5 for-loss. A graduate of Madison High School, Wallace also has six career sacks and has returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns.

Howard, an Adrian High School product, was named first-team All-MIAA in 2005. He averaged 18.6 yards per-punt return and took two back for scores with a long of 83 yards. Howard also has over 1,000 yards receiving in his two years at AC.

The #20 Bulldogs open their season and brand-new stadium on Sept. 9 when they host regional rival Defiance College at 7:30 p.m.
