Wallace
and Howard named pre-season All-Americans
D3football.com recognizes AC stars
ADRIAN,
Mich.— Adrian College’s
senior linebacker Tavarski “Taz”
Wallace and junior punt returner D.J.
Howard have been named pre-season All-Americans
by D3Football.com.
Both
named to the second team of the squad,
Wallace and Howard appear on their second
All-American list this pre-season, having
been named to Street & Smith’s
first team in June.
Wallace
is Adrian College’s all-time leader
in tackles and a two-time first-team
All-MIAA performer. He led the nation
in tackles with 155 as a sophomore in
2004 and had 133 stops a year ago, including
11.5 for-loss. A graduate of Madison
High School, Wallace also has six career
sacks and has returned two of his three
interceptions for touchdowns.
Howard,
an Adrian High School product, was named
first-team All-MIAA in 2005. He averaged
18.6 yards per-punt return and took
two back for scores with a long of 83
yards. Howard also has over 1,000 yards
receiving in his two years at AC.
The
#20 Bulldogs open their season and brand-new
stadium on Sept. 9 when they host regional
rival Defiance College at 7:30 p.m.
