Bulldogs take two at Kalamazoo
Great pitching lifts Adrian to 18-6 in the MIAA

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Adrian College baseball team stayed within one game of MIAA-leading Hope College by taking two games at Kalamazoo on Monday afternoon.

The Bulldogs got great pitching in both games, winning 3-2 and 5-1.

Sophomore Nick Sarkissian got his second win of the season in game one, going all seven innings and allowing just two runs on seven hits with three K’s and just one walk.

Anthony Carr paced the Bulldog offense with two doubles, and RBI and a run in a 2-for-4 performance. Mike Hacket was equally impressive with a home run and a double, going 2-for-3. Bobby Rickstad was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Rickstad is 8-2 on the hill this season after earning the win in game two. He threw a complete-game and allowe one earned run while striking out three and walking one.

Mackenzie Matthews made the most out of his second start at third base, going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run. Carr had a triple and scored a run, while Mark Roeder was 2-for-3 with two runs.

The Bulldogs will conclude the regular season with a series against rival Albion College. They will play at Albion at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and host the Britons on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Adrian will need to win one more game during this four game series than Hope does against Olivet to claim their third-straight MIAA championship.
