| ADRIAN COLLEGE THEATRE
PRESENTS 'THE TRICKERIES OF SCAPIN' posted
4/4/05
The Adrian College Theater Department
presents Jean Baptise Moliere's "The Trickeries
of Scapin," translated by Tunc Yalman, April 14
- 16.
While two miserly old fathers are
away from home on business, their sons become romantically
involved with girls who are not up to social standards,
despite the watchfulness of their servants who are supposed
to keep them out of trouble. When the fathers return,
they announce their own marital plans for the boys.
It is left up to the clever servant, Scapin, to outwit
the pretentious fathers.
In this Adrian College production,
the department will serve the play up with its own twist
of ingenuity: reversal of gender roles by the actors
for a study in comedy and stereotypes.
Curtain time is 8 p.m. each day in
Downs Hall Theatre, with an extra show at 2 p.m. on
April 16. Downs Hall is located on Madison Street. Ticket
prices are $5 for the general public and $3 for students
and seniors. For further information please call 517-264-3922.
