Heather Peddie, a senior at Adrian
College, was selected for the Region III Kennedy Center
American College Theatre Festival for her play "Severe
Brightness." From the 78 scripts that were submitted,
Peddie's was one of six that was chosen for the festival.
Her play was given a staged reading as part of the ten-minute
play festival.
KCATF is the educational outreach component of the famous
Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Over the years Adrian
has had a long tradition of achievement, in spite of
competing with big state schools that have graduate
programs in theatre. Adrian College students have been
recognized several times in the festival's script contest
and have performed plays. Students from AC have also
been published in the festival anthology, and have been
selected to direct and to attend seminars at the national
festival in Washington.
Peddie is a graduate from Frankenmuth
High School.
