The theatre department at Adrian College
proudly presents "The Laramie Project," a
play based on the brutal murder of 21-year-old Matthew
Shephard, a gay student from Laramie, Wyo., in October
1998.
The play was created by Moisés
Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project,
who made several trips to Laramie over the course of
a year and a half in the aftermath of the beating, and
during the trial of the two men accused of killing Shephard.
"The Laramie Project" is a theatrical collage
that explores the depths to which humanity can sink,
and the heights of compassion we are also capable of.
Performances are scheduled Feb. 16
- Feb. 18 in Downs Hall Theatre. On Thursday and Friday
the performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. and on Saturday
there will be two performances, which are scheduled
for 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets for this event are $7
for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Further
information can be obtained by calling 517-264-3922.
