ADRIAN COLLEGE THEATRE PRESENTS 'CHICAGO' posted 10/25/05

Starting Nov. 3, Adrian College Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning musical "Chicago." Many students from Adrian College have been working since early September under the direction of Suzanne Carter Smith practicing and perfecting this musical. Curtain time is at 8 p.m. Nov. 3-5 at Dawson Auditorium on the Adrian College campus.

Chicago, which originally opened in 1975, tells the tale of Roxie Hart, who, while trying to pin the murder of her two-timing boyfriend on her husband, uses the fame to drive herself into showbiz. She meets up with a chorus girl, Velma Kelly, who also has a murderous past.

In 1996, Chicago was revived on Broadway, which lead to six Tony Awards, including, "Best Revival of a Musical," "Best Lighting Design," and "Best Choreography." Chicago is still running today on Broadway with Brook Shields as Roxie Hart.

Ticket prices for Chicago will be $10 for the general public and $7 for students, seniors, and Adrian College staff. Further information may be obtained by calling 517-284-3866, or 517-264-3922.
