GALLERY HOSTS VIEIRA-SPENNY EXHIBIT

The Adrian College department of art
is hosting a digital photography exhibition by Cibele
Vieira and Anne Spenny. It will be on display in the
Stubnitz Gallery from Nov. 14 to Dec. 16. A noon talk
is scheduled on Nov. 18, at 12:15 p.m. in Mahan 102.
Cibele Vieira is originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Vieira has had work shown in numerous Brazilian exhibitions,
including New Photographers from Brazil, Contacts and
Confronts The Indian and White, One Year Certificate
Exhibition, and 137th Street Stop. Vieira received her
master’s degree from New School University and
her bachelor’s degree from Federal University
of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Anne Spenny teaches at the University
of Toledo. She received her master’s of fine arts
degree from Rochester Institution of Technology and
her bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.
Spenny displays her work in national exhibitions and
has many pieces in private collections. “Just
as a writer is encouraged to write what they know, I
photograph what is familiar to me,” Spenny said.
Stubnitz Gallery is located
in Downs Hall on the Adrian College campus. Hours are
noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Thursday
