STUBNITZ
GALLERY HOSTS ‘SENIOR EXHIBITION IV’
Exhibit showcases the work of Adrian College art seniors
posted 4/7/06
The last chance to see what Adrian
College seniors have been working on is just around
the corner. The final of four Senior Art Exhibitions
runs from April 17-28. The students showcasing their
works are Lauren Pfund, Lindsey Konopka, Amanda Hubbard,
Kim Edwards, and Megan McClenaghan.
The exhibition is scheduled in Stubnitz
Gallery in Downs Hall on Madison Street. The gallery
hours are Monday – Saturday 9-4 p.m., and Thursday
9-9 p.m. If you would like to speak to an artist, a
reception will be held on Sunday, April 23 from 2-4
p.m.
Lauren Pfund works primarily in paint.
Her unusual color palette makes snapshots of friends
seem like they are from another dimension. This coincides
perfectly with her imaginative paintings of various
monsters.
Lindsey Konopka is a photographer.
Her show will consist of clusters of different types
of photos ranging from architecture to people. It will
also feature some screen prints and a few solar prints.
Amanda Hubbard works in three-dimensional
art. She pairs ceramic pieces with sculptural shapes
made of wire. The forms work together to give her work
an interesting depth.
Kim Edwards is a painter who is very
interested in music. Her large paintings, spanning over
several canvases, takes a look at music’s history.
Loose brushstrokes guide you through a variety of genres,
jazz, rock, and disco, to name a few.
Megan McClenaghan loves nature
and it comes through in her pottery. Nature-based textures
become the decoration on her forms. Her decoration begins
relatively simple, just focusing on the colors found
in nature, and goes to very elaborate embellishment,
echoing tree trunks and vines.
