| PLANETARIUM ANNOUNCES
TWO WINTER SHOWS posted
2/3/06
The Robinson Planetarium at Adrian
College presents two shows, "Follow the Drinking
Gourd" and "What's Up in the Sky Tonight."
The first show, Follow the Drinking
Gourd, is based upon Jeanette Winters' book of the same
name. It will take you on a journey back in time to
learn how constellations helped slaves successfully
find their way to freedom using the Underground Railroad.
This program is geared toward children and is wonderful
to share with family and friends. It will show Feb.
4, Feb. 7, and Feb. 17. Each show is scheduled to begin
at 7 p.m.
The second show, What's Up in the
Sky Tonight, will talk about the winter sky, and the
changes that happen during the winter. The winter sky
contains the brightest stars of any season. Huge dying
stars and blue-white young stars pepper the constellations
of winter.
Hunters and dogs and bulls share the
sky with twins and chariots and clusters of stars. Several
bright planets are found this winter as well. This program
will show Feb. 10, Feb. 24 and Mar. 24. Each show is
scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
This event will take place in Robinson
Planetarium, which is located in Peelle Hall at the
corner of Charles Street and Williams Street. There
is no charge for this event.
Special shows for school groups
can be scheduled by calling Dr. Sarah Hanson at 517-264-3944.
