"PHENOMENAL WOMEN"
HONORED posted
3/31/05
Congratulations to the following
women faculty, staff and students who were recognized
at Adrian College's 7th annual Phenomenal Women Luncheon
as part of Women's History Month.
FACULTY RECIPIENT: Noelle Keller,
Technical Services Librarian
“Noelle has directed the Shipman
Library technical services staff since 1999 when the
library was temporarily housed in Ridge and now serves
as the Head Librarian as well. She directed the daunting
task of moving the library collections from Ridge into
the newly remodeled Shipman Library. After the library’s
long term periodicals vendor abruptly terminated service,
Noelle began the laborious task of contacting individual
publishers to ensure uninterrupted periodicals service.
During last summer’s flooding Noelle played an
instrumental role in saving irreplaceable documents
from the United Methodist archives. Noelle works closely
with faculty to make sure the library staff is meeting
their needs.”

“Martha’s pleasant, personable,
and even-tempered nature is a quiet strength about her.
Students, faculty and staff regularly comment on what
a pleasure it is to work with Martha. She maintains
a balanced lifestyle between work and her family, including
her husband, three children and one grandchild. Martha
is active with her church and is committed to her personal
health.”
-Nominator
“Martha is a remarkable woman
who seldom thinks about herself—during very stressful
periods in her personal life she always made a point
to put the focus on others and their needs. Her professional
demeanor is impeccable which strongly contributes to
the overall campus morale. Martha’s convictions
are virtuous and ethical which makers her an excellent
role model for students and co-workers.”

and been involved with numerous community service efforts
including CAMBIOS, Golden Z, Catherine Cobb Domestic
