MUSIC DEPARTMENT PRESENTS PETE FORD JAZZ PIANO RECITAL posted 9/9/05

Pete Ford, an area jazz musician and instructor at Adrian College, will present a jazz piano recital at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19 in Spencer Hall.

Ford is a specialist in music theory and jazz studies. He performs on jazz piano around the region both as a sideman and with his group, the Pete Ford Trio. He is the primary arranger for the saxophone quartet Sax 4th Avenue, and is in wide demand as a lecturer in music theory, keyboard, jazz history, and rock history at other area colleges.

Assisting him in the recital will be Scott Kretzer on drums, Kurt Krahnke on bass, and Shannon Ford on alto saxophone. The performance will consist of jazz standards and several original works by Mr. Ford. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.
