CHOIR TO PERFORM CARNEGIE
HALL PROGRAM posted
3/27/06
The Lenawee Community Chorus and the
Adrian College Choir will perform Sunday, April 9 at
3 p.m. in the Adrian College Chapel. They have returned
from their “standing ovation performance”
at Carnegie Hall in New York City in early March. The
140-person choir will perform its Carnegie Hall program
featuring Faure’s “Requiem.”
Also featured will be the three winners
of this year’s Lenawee County Vocal Arts Competition,
sponsored by the Lenawee Community Chorus. The vocal
arts competition is an annual event open to all students
in grades 10-12 residing in Lenawee County. First, second,
and third place prizes are $300, $200, and $100 respectively.
All three winners will perform in the concert.
Conductor of the choruses, Tom Hodgman,
is pleased to announce that because of their successful
performance in New York City, the choirs have been asked
to return to Carnegie Hall for an encore performance
within the next five years.
Tickets for the concert are
available at the door: $10 for adults, $5 for seniors,
and free admission for those 18 years and under. Doors
open at 2:30 p.m. The Adrian College Chapel is located
off of Charles Street.
