COLLEGE PRESENTS ‘A BROADWAY REVUE’
posted 1/27/06
The music department’s chapter of MENC (Music Educators
National Council) invites you to “A Broadway Revue.”
The performance is scheduled Thursday and Friday, Feb. 2 and
3 at 8 p.m in Dawson Auditorium, located off of Charles Street
on the Adrian College campus.
The Revue is again directed by Eric Swanson, who is a senior
at Adrian College and also MENC vice president. Sophomore
Jim Davidson will be the assistant director, and senior Kim
Ferguson, MENC president, will choreograph the show. She is
assisted by freshmen Cynthia Ferguson.
This year’s performance will feature numbers from “Ragtime,”
“Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Newsies,”
“Sideshow,” “Anything Goes,” “Aida”
and many more. Forty Adrian College students will entertain
for the night. The cast will be accompanied by a 15-piece
orchestra pit composed of students and faculty.
Some of the 14 soloists include Adrian College students Kelly
Fox, Aaron Taylor, Ben Rosebrock, and Heather Smith. The performance
will also feature dance and large chorus numbers.
MENC is a student-run organization that organizes the “Revue”
to allow musical theater students another venue to showcase
their talents.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, with a discount
price of $8 for groups of eight or more. For tickets email
BroadwayRevue1@aol.com or contact the music department at
517-264-3868.
All proceeds from this year’s show will go toward the
Adrian College spring choir trip to New York City’s
Carnegie Hall on March 13.
Let Adrian bring Broadway to you!
