PROFESSOR MADE FELLOW AT BROOKINGS

This summer, Adrian College political
science professor Muqtedar Khan has been invited as
a visiting fellow to the Brookings Institution's Saban
Center for Middle East Policy (more).
At Brookings, Dr. Khan will participate in a project
called the "U.S. Policy Towards the Islamic World,"
and will be active on the Brookings Taskforce on U.S.
Foreign Policy. His areas of expertise are Political
Islam and American Foreign Policy.
The
Brookings Institution, based in Washington, D.C.,
is an independent, nonpartisan organization devoted
to research, analysis, education, and publication focused
on public policy issues in the areas of economics, foreign
policy, and governance. The goal of Brookings activities
is to improve the performance of American institutions
and the quality of public policy by using social science
to analyze emerging issues and to offer practical approaches
to those issues in language aimed at the general public.
Dr. Khan is a prominent liberal Muslim
voice and is the author of American
Muslims: Bridging Faith and Freedom. His commentaries
appear in global media such as The Washington Post,
The Wall Street Journal (U.S.), The Daily Telegraph
(UK), The Age (Australia), Arab News (Saudi Arabia),
Jakarta Post (Indonesia), Outlook India, Dawn (Pakistan),
and many academic and political journals. He has also
