DATES ANNOUNCED FOR PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION posted 9/14/05
Ceremony for President Jeffrey Docking scheduled for spring

The inauguration for Dr. Jeffrey R. Docking, the 17th president of Adrian College, has been set for Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1, 2006.

The dates were announced on Sept. 9 to the Adrian College Board of Trustees by Board Chairman Gary Valade, the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees and President Jeffrey Docking.

An inaugural committee is being formed and will help coordinate the event through the Office of Alumni Relations.

The inauguration is the formal induction of the president into office. Docking took over on July 1, and has been actively engaged in his role as leader since then. However, the inauguration is an important opportunity for a college to formally recognize its new president, at the same time it reflects on its history and celebrates its future.

Adrian College is a small liberal arts college related to The United Methodist Church that is located in southeast Michigan. A long line of presidents has served the College with distinction since its founding in 1859.

Prior to coming to Adrian, Docking was vice president and special assistant to the president at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Penn. This is his first college presidency.
