Big Donors Make
a Second Gift for Ice Arena posted

Arrington brothers donate $250,000
more
These two brothers made a record
gift in May, by donating $2.75 million for Adrian
College’s new indoor ice arena.
Now Adrian trustee Dr. Robyn Arrington
Jr. announces that he and his brother, fellow Adrian
alumnus Col. Harold Arrington, are donating $250,000
more.
“I recently had the chance to
witness first-hand some of the wonderful changes at
Adrian,” Arrington said. “I was so impressed
by what is happening there that I asked immediately
how I could help make things happen more quickly.”
Arrington recently toured Adrian’s
new performance stadium and renovated dining hall. He
is a member of the Renaissance II committee, where he’s
been rolling up his sleeves to discuss dynamic changes
to the College’s academic offerings. And he personally
heard reports about this year’s record-setting
incoming class.
“The marvelous progress being
made at my alma mater is inspiring, and my brother and
I want to do all that we can to help keep things going,”
Robyn continued.
Dr. Jeffrey Docking, Adrian College
president, announced just a few weeks ago that the College
needed just $1 million to make the community ice arena
a reality. The Arringtons’ gift brings Adrian
within $425,000 of its goal, and comes on the tail of
other major gifts – including one for $75,000
announced just days ago.
“We owe our thanks to the Arringtons
once again,” Docking said. “Because of their
continued leadership, I have high hopes that we can
actually start to build soon.”
