“Meet the Dockings” planned Aug. 11 for president and his family

Please help welcome some of Lenawee County’s newest residents during “Meet the Dockings,” a reception for Adrian College’s new president and his family. It is scheduled 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, in the Caine Student Center.

Dr. Jeffrey R. Docking assumed the presidency July 1. He and his wife Beth recently moved here with their four children from Pennsylvania, where Dr. Docking was vice president and special assistant to the president at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa.

“Dr. Docking is already bringing a new energy to the campus,” said Brad Whitehouse, College spokesperson. “He has a unique and strong vision for how he wants to take this college to the next level of excellence – and he understands how that includes the surrounding community.”

The Dockings have three boys, ages 17, 16 and 14, and one girl, age 10. He and Beth grew up in East Lansing, and met when they were students at Michigan State University.

Dr. Docking earned a doctorate from Boston University, and a master of divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. He is 44 years old.

Caine Student Center, formerly known as Ridge Student Center, is located off of Williams Street on the Adrian College campus.
