"Christian Service"
The dominating figure is St. Francis of Assisi
(1181-1226 A.D.) who stands arms spread representing the service aspect
of Christianity. Other figures further develop this guiding principal
as St. Francis serves by comforting the animals, helping the needy, building
the Church, and sending friars out to preach the Christian gospel throughout
the world.
The narthex windows further develop the Christian principal of service.
