"Protestant Foundation"

In the lower section is depicted St. Augustine (354-430 A.D.) and the City of Hyppo. On the left are symbols representing three major Protestant leaders, all of whom are influenced by Augustine. These are Lutheran (Luther's Rose), Presbyterian (Calvin's Heart) and Methodism (the well-known Aldersgate of Wesley's experience).

The design of the window illustrates certain symbolic interpretations of concepts expounded by St. Augustine which affected the Western Church and, particularly, the later born Protestant Churches. These include Philosophy of History (God, Christ, Last Judgement), Time (God not subordinate to cosmic time and order), Original Sin (Adam, Eve, Serpent) and Predestination (God, fountain of life and man's salvation).
