From Contact,
Sept. 1953
Five members of the Adrian College staff joined
hundreds of the town’s men in growing beards and mustaches.
The reason for this being to help celebrate the
100th year of Adrian’s incorporation.
Sporting a well tailored beard and leading the field
was Dr. Corley S. Ritchie, Business Manager.
Looking like the members of an old barber shop quartette
were Prof. Miles Peelle, Prof. William Schuhle, Prof. Homer Powell
and Robert Tuttle (College Press Director). Each had a well cultivated
cookie duster and given an apron and shaving mug they could have
won a quartette singing contest without uttering a note.
