Theatre professor Michael Allen was a member of the cast of "The Scarlet Pimpernel" at the Croswell Opera House in June.

Sheri Bleam was one of 25 communication faculty from undergraduate institutions across the nation who attended the National Communication Association Hope Institute for Faculty Development at Luther College in Iowa in July. The purpose of the conference was to aid communication professors who teach undergraduates.

At the 84th Toledo Area Artists show at the Toledo Museum of Art (the "May Show"), art professor Pi Benio won Best of Show for "Riven," an installation which consists of nine figures formed from flax, linen and paper. The Toledo Blade says the show is Toledo's "biggest, toughest, most visible venue for area artists." It represents the best artwork produced in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Prizes for the show totaled $8,000, and Benio took home $1,000.

Chris Momany '84, AC Chaplain, wrote an article, "Aliens in a Foreign Land: Memory as Kenosis in a Culture of Achievement," which was published in the Spring 2002 volume of Wesleyan Theological Journal.
