2006 COMMENCEMENT posted 4/30/06

Congratulations, graduates!

Friends and family descended on campus today to celebrate a very significant day in the lives of Adrian College seniors. The members of the senior class stepped onto the stage as college students, and stepped off as proud college graduates.

President Docking greets students and hands out diplomas.

The commencement address was given by someone who has stood in their shoes, Adrian College alumnus and U.S. Congressman Mike Rogers.

“This is a great institution, and I hope you know how prepared you are for success,” Rogers said.

The significance of their accomplishments was also noted at the start of the ceremony by Gary Valade, chair of the Adrian College Board of Trustees. He said there is not better time in the life of a college than graduation day, and that Adrian was proud to help prepare students to achieve their dreams.

A total of 148 students were scheduled to take part in the ceremony.

Adrian College, located in southeast Michigan, is a private residential college that is related to The United Methodist Church. It has been preparing college graduates for almost 150 years.
