Dr. Caine to retire June 2005, after 16 years
Dr. Stanley P. Caine, president of
Adrian College, has announced that he will retire June
30, 2005.
He made the announcement at the winter
meeting of the Adrian College Board of Trustees this
past Saturday (Feb. 21). He decided to make the announcement
now in order to provide sufficient time for the board
to organize and conduct a search for a new president.
“Stan Caine has truly made a
difference here at Adrian College: in our mission and
values, in our success as an educational community,
and in the lives of each of us,” board chair Gary
Valade said. “On behalf of the board, I offer
him congratulations and deep and genuine appreciation
at the time of this announcement.
“We are also grateful that the
college will continue to enjoy his leadership as president
for the full 2004-2005 academic year,” Valade
continued.
Dr. Caine became president of Adrian
College in 1989. When he retires, he will be 65 years
old and will have served as president for 16 years.
“Serving as Adrian's president
has been the most challenging and the most satisfying
portion of my professional career,” Dr. Caine
said. “I have had the privilege of helping to
provide leadership for a fine college in a great community.”
