ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Zeta Beta chapter of Theta Chi was awarded The Howard R. Alter Jr. at the inaugural Initiative Academy, held June 9-12 in Bloomington, IN. This is the highest honor which the fraternity can bestow upon a chapter.
The Howard R. Alter Jr. Award was created in 1984 and is presented to Chapters of the Theta Chi fraternity who display excellence in all areas including: Ritual, Scholarship, Recruitment, Philanthropy/Community Service, Finance, Standards, Social Events, Brotherhood and Chapter Involvement.
The chapter was recognized with this award for the third consecutive year, earning it five times in the last decade, the most out of any school of its size.
“It is an honor to be recognized by Theta Chi for this accomplishment,” said Pete Tomasek, president of the Zeta Beta Chapter of Theta Chi at Adrian College. “The fact that our hard work, dedication, and perseverance has paid off again is certainly rewarding.”
The Initiative Academy is held bi-annually for members of all Chapters of Theta Chi fraternities nationwide who demonstrate, or who are interested in, leadership initiatives. Zeta Beta was able to send one brother, Johnny Weishar, to accept the award.
