ADRIAN, MI. – High School Athletes entering 9th-12th grades can get a jump on the cross country season at the Adrian College Cross Country Camp July 17-21, 2011.
The AC Cross Country Camp is designed to educate runners in all areas of training and competing. During the camp, each participant will learn the physiology, psychology and biomechanical aspects of training specific to endurance athletes. Through the AC coaching staffs’ in-depth knowledge and passion for the sport, each camper will work toward their individual goals of becoming a stronger athlete through knowledge, passion and new friendships. In addition to covering the basics of Cross Country Distance Running, coaches will also go over Vo2Max Testing. Each participant will take a VO2max test as a part of this program. Largely determined by genetics and age, this can also be influenced by training and body composition. This allows participants to evaluate their current rank and compare to future measurements.
This camp will be coordinated through the Adrian College Track and Field program and instructed by the Adrian College coaching staff.
Cost for the camp is $250 per overnight camper; $150 for commuters. All meals are included for overnight campers, while lunch is to be included for commuters. Campers will be housed on campus with two athletes per room. Athletes may request specific roommates (housing request must be sent with registration form). Linens are provided.
