Adrian College Alumni Bring Back a Musical Tradition posted 12/15/11
Broadway Revue to return to Dawson Auditorium on January 21.

ADRIAN, Mich. – Alumni of Adrian College will return to the stage with an honored tradition of Broadway Revue on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m in Dawson Auditorium.

First produced in 2004 by Adrian College alumnus, Eric Swanson, the Broadway Revue was created as a spring event consisting of choreographed ensemble numbers and a sprinkling of solos, duets and small group numbers showcasing the talent of students. The revue dissolved in 2009, however, the show remained strong in Swanson’s heart, leading to the collaboration with alumna Gerianne Ditto to return the show to its roots.

“We are excited to return to one of the traditions initiated at Adrian,” said Swanson. “It was important to keep it alive through my work in Detroit, and with so many alumni in the group, it was only natural to return to our home at AC.”

The January return will be celebrated with tunes from previous shows, as well as a few new favorites. Songs include “The Circle of Life” from The Lion King, “Aquarius” from Hair, “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray and other toe-tapping, family-friendly sounds.

Admission is free, $5 donation is suggested. For more information, please contact Ashley Laabs at 248-275-8049, or via email at alaabs1@gmail.com.
