SGA HOSTS APPRECIATION RECEPTION posted 11/12/04

The Student Government Association (SGA) sponsored a reception on Thursday, Nov. 11 to recognize outstanding faculty, staff and students. The event was part of SGA’s Appreciation Week.

Decisions on awards for faculty and staff were made based on student nominations; recognition of students was made based on nominations by faculty and staff. The reception took place in Arrington Auditorium in Ridge Student Center.

Faculty
Excellence in Teaching – Jeff Ball (art and design) and Muqtedar Khan (political science)
Excellence in Advising – Deb Field (history) and Dick Koch (English)
Excellence in Service – Don Cellini (modern languages) and Tom Flagg (psychology)

Staff
Cynthia Beaubien (secretary/receptionist, admissions) and Riki Carson (track/cross country coach, assistant building manager, athletics)

Students
Campus Involvement – Catherine Converse (senior, Union City, Mich.) and Amy Forsyth (senior, Eastpointe, Mich.)
Campus Service – Amanda Grobaski (senior, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.), Lindsay Ott (junior, Adrian, Mich.) and Nick Piper (junior, Jonesville, Mich.)
