COLLEGE PLANS ‘NEW AND IMPROVED’ HOMECOMING OCT. 14-16 posted 10/5/05

Adrian College is excited to announce its "New and Improved Homecoming 2005," on the weekend of Oct. 14-16. There are many great events designed for the campus and community.

Many of the events occur on Saturday. A 5K Bulldog Run is scheduled through local neighborhoods around Adrian College. Meet in the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center lobby. The race starts at 8 a.m. The cost is $12 per person in advance and $15 the day of the event. There will be t-shirts and prizes. Check out Kids Korner from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children of all ages will enjoy activities including a moon walk, face painting, treat walk, chalk art, spin art, a duck pond, AC Bulldog spirit table, ball toss, the famous balloon man and snacks! This event is taking place at the center of the Adrian College campus off of Madison Street.

There will be a Sound Stage from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the center of the Adrian College Campus. New performances begin every half hour. While you're enjoying musical and magical talents, stop by the Taste of the Town where you can sample culinary delights from area restaurants.

The homecoming football game against the Olivet Comets starts at 2 p.m. at Maple Stadium. Admission is free. Come cheer on the Bulldogs to victory! While you're there, watch and listen for the Adrian College band as they make their first appearance in years.

Walkin' the Dawg is another new event. Community members can bring their bulldogs and strut their stuff on the field before the game and vie for the grand prize. They will compete for the best-dressed canine. For more information, contact Molly More at 517-264-3998, or mmoore@adrian.edu.

Seth Meyers, a comedian from Saturday Night Live, will do stand-up comedy Saturday night at 8 p.m. in Dawson Auditorium. Free and open to the public! Seth Meyers has been on the cast of SNL since 2001. Some of his many impersonations include Russell Crowe, Richard Dawson, Hugh Grant, Tobey Maquire, Ewan McGregor, Richard B. Myers, Stone Phillips, and Brian
Williams.

On Sunday, come to the Adrian College Chapel and enjoy the Homecoming Worship Service. It is scheduled at 11 a.m. and will feature guest preacher Rev. Marsha Bitson Woolley, Adrian College class of 1982, from the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor. Other guests include President Jeffrey Docking, the Adrian College Choir and Alumni Choir.
