Community invited to Military Appreciation; Encouraged to wear red, white and blue
ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College invites the local community to participate in Military Appreciation Day this Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 to honor veterans and active service personnel. The College will also be celebrating its recent achievement of being named a 2011 Top Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs Magazine.
“This day is another effort by the College to express our commitment to the men and women who serve and defend our country,” said Docking. “Adrian College is built on a tradition of commitment and loyalty to those who serve our country. Military Appreciation Day is an expression of these values and we invite all in Lenawee County to join us.”
The event will surround the Bulldogs opening home football game against Defiance College. Patriotic pre-game ceremonies and recognition will begin at 5:45 P.M. with kickoff scheduled for 6 P.M. A halftime military tribute will be performed by the AC Marching Band and members of local high school bands.
Military vehicles will be on display on the Arrington Ice Arena lawn. Elephant and donkey rides will also be taking place on the Merillat Sport & Fitness lawn. Families and children of all ages are invited to attend this patriotic day. Spectators are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
