Counselors receive SB-CEU
credit and mandated state training
ADRIAN, Mich.
– Adrian College is hosting a Michigan
high school guidance counselor workshop on Wednesday,
Sept. 30. The workshop will focus on training
for reporters of child abuse.
The Michigan Department of Education is working
with the Department of Human Services and the
Michigan Child Death Review Program in an effort
to ensure that school professionals are trained
in the responsibilities and requirements of
all mandated reporters. This workshop promises
to be an easy and effective way to obtain SB-CEU
credit and mandated state training. In addition,
participants will receive information from higher
education professionals about financial aid,
admissions and recruiting practices.
Benefits of the workshop include SB-CEU Credit;
staying current on Child Protection Laws; developing
policies and practices in place in time of need;
and gaining new knowledge of higher education
practices.
All participants will also receive a certificate
of completion. The cost of the workshop is $25.00
per counselor or $75.00 for four or more counselors
from the same school. All interested parties
should contact Melissa Thompson at 800-877-2246
or via e-mail at mthompson@adrian.edu.
