Annual Juried Art Exhibition opens at end of month

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Department of Art and Design presents the 2009 annual Juried Student Exhibition in Stubnitz Gallery Friday, Sept. 25 through Saturday, Oct. 24. Each year, students are invited to submit work that is evaluated by an independent juror for display in the show.

This year’s exhibition will be judged by artist and University of Toledo photography professor Deborah Orloff.

On display are works created in art and design department courses during the 2008-2009 academic year. Students work in a wide variety of media, including pottery, photography, sculpture, painting, printmaking, electronic art, fibers, and drawing

An awards reception will take place for the students on Oct. 20 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Stubnitz Gallery. Orloff will talk about her observations of the work submitted and her criteria for inclusion and awards beginning at 5:30 P.M.

Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Thursday noon to 9:00 P.M. The gallery is also open Sunday, Sept. 27 noon to 4:00 P.M. The gallery will be closed Oct. 10 – 13.
