Adrian College announces
this year’s homecoming festivities
ADRIAN,
Mich. – Adrian College is excited to announce
this year’s homecoming weekend, Oct. 3-5,
and the great events planned for the campus
and community.
Cheer on the men’s ACHA
Division I hockey team led by new head coach
Dan Phelps. The team will play on both Friday,
Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Opponent
Robert Morris College is located in Chicago.
New head coach Ali Alamdari
will direct the Lady Bulldogs on the soccer
field on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Lady Bulldogs
will take on the Comets of Olivet College at
11 a.m. at the stadium. General admission is
$5; seniors over 60 and children under 10 are
$3.
If volleyball is more your
style, stop by the Merillat Performance Gymnasium
as the Lady Bulldogs take on the Albion Britons.

Check out Kids Korner from
noon-5 p.m. on Saturday. Children of all ages
will enjoy a variety of activities, including
“Zoo on the Moo-ve” petting zoo,
train rides, contests, air tattoos, inflatable
fun, and much more. Look for the Kids Korner
tent near the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center.
Don’t miss the Homecoming
Parade on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. It runs along
Michigan Avenue from McKenzie Street to the
Merillat parking lot. Come enjoy the parade
and listen to the dynamic sounds of the 90-member
Adrian College Marching Band.
Enjoy music all afternoon
on the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center lawn.
The outdoor sound stage will feature live music
from 2:30-6:30 p.m. This year’s performers
of rock and classic rock are local groups: Collar
Spin, The Mea Culpa and Mid Lyfe Crysis. Collar
Spin features Bob Howard and Tom Lucas, two
members of Adrian College’s very own plant
services department; Mid Lyfe Crysis features
Pat Farver, a prominent member of the Adrian
community and trustee of the College; and The
Mea Culpa, a three-person band featuring a female
vocalist.
Join the crowd for a great
evening of football and fun under the lights
as the Bulldogs take on the Kalamazoo College
Hornets. Head coach Jim Lyall leads the team
in his 19th season. The game starts Saturday
at 7 p.m., however, gates open at 5 p.m. General
admission is $5; seniors over 60 and children
under 10 are $3.
Adrian’s chaplain, the
Rev. Dr. Chris Momany, invites you to come worship
on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Herrick
Chapel on campus. Rev. Momany ’84 will
deliver this year’s sermon “Knowing
Home for the First Time”. He will be assisted
by pre-seminary students. Also featured are
the Adrian College Choirs and Alumni Choir,
directed by Dr. Tom Hodgman, associate professor
of music and special guest conductor, Dr. Art
Jones, professor emeritus of music.
The 5K Bulldog Run is scheduled
for Saturday at 9 am. Participants can register,
pick up packets and check in between 7:30-8:45
a.m. at Merillat Sport & Fitness Center
lobby. If registering before Sept. 26, the cost
is $10 for AC students and $15 for non-students.
Following Sept. 26 it is $20 for all. Participants
will receive a Bulldog Run T-shirt and will
be eligible for prizes. To enter, contact Coach

Caine Student Center which is open 24 hours
a day. The Arrington Bookstore, Jazzman’s
Coffee, Scoreboard Café with Quiznos
