Adrian College
Presents New Student-Written
One-Act Plays posted 9/21/07
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian
College Chapter of Theta Alpha Phi announces
its annual presentation of new student-written,
one-act plays Sept. 27-29 in the Downs Hall
Theatre at Adrian College.
The plays that will be performed
this year include, “Crush,” and
“The Polar Bear Club.”
“Crush,” by senior
Karen M. Thompson (St. Clair Shores, Mich.),
is a play that explores the uncertainty of life
and chances for resolution. As club owner Stella
is confronted with faces from her recent past,
she must decide where the line for forgiving
and forgetting really stands. As she tries to
figure out what's the truth, what are lies and
if it really matters either way, she must examine
the ideas of forgiveness, whether it's possible
to truly forget, and where the line is between
granting forgiveness and being taken advantage
of.
In “The Polar Bear Club,”
by senior Kelly J. Fox (Temperance, Mich.),
we follow Nicky Roberts as she makes everyday
decisions as a college senior. Through a series
of flashbacks, we get the inside look at the
quirky relationship between Nicky and her sister
Meghan as history repeats itself.
Downs Hall Theatre is
located in Downs Hall on Madison Street. Curtain
time is 8 p.m. each evening, general admission
is $3, and students with I.D. are free of charge.
