Adrian College Announces Homecoming Events

ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College is excited about this year’s homecoming weekend, Oct. 5-7, and the great events planned for the campus and community.

Come see the new ice arena in action featuring the men’s ACHA Division I club team led by Coach Mike Buchan. The team will play on both Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Opponent Robert Morris University is located in the Pittsburgh area. General admission is $5; seniors over 60 and children under 10 are $3.

Check out Kids Korner from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday. Children of all ages will enjoy a variety of activities, including contests, air tattoos, pony rides, inflatable fun, and much more. Look for the Kids Korner tent and the big gold and black balloon.

Don’t miss the Homecoming Parade on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. It runs along Michigan Avenue from McKenzie Street to the Merillat parking lot. Come enjoy the revival of the Homecoming parade, and watch for the new Adrian College Marching Band.

Cheer on the men’s soccer team as they take on the Calvin Knights at the stadium Saturday at 2 p.m. Head coach Evan Himes leads the team. General admission is $5; seniors over 60 and children under 10 are $3.

Join the crowd for a great evening of football and fun under the lights. Head coach Jim Lyall leads the Bulldogs in his 18th season. The game starts Saturday at 7 p.m., however, gates open at 5 p.m. General admission is $5; seniors over 60 and children under 10 are $3.

Adrian’s chaplain, the Rev. Dr. Chris Momany, invites you to come worship on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. This year’s sermon will be presented by alumnus Rev. Terry Euper, class of 1968, clergy assistant to Bishop Jonathan Keaton, resident bishop to the Michigan Area of the United Methodist Church. Also featured are the Adrian College Choirs and Alumni Choir, directed by Dr. Tom Hodgman, Associate Professor of Music.

The Art2Go Auction is a silent auction of over 60 selected works by AC art alumni, faculty and students. The auction runs on Friday, Oct. 5, 2-5 p.m., as well as Saturday, 11a.m.-4p.m.

The 5K Bulldog Run is scheduled for Saturday at 9 am. Participants can register, pick up packets and check in between 7:30-8:45 a.m. at Merillat Sport & Fitness Center lobby. If registering before Sept. 26, the cost is $10 for AC students and $15 for non-students. Following Sept. 26 it is $17 for all. Participants will receive a Bulldog Run T-shirt and will be eligible for prizes. To enter, contact Coach James Larson at (517) 264-3992, or jlarson@adrian.edu.

Be sure to stop by the Caine Student Center, formerly Ridge Gymnasium, which is open 24 hours a day. Now inside are the Arrington Bookstore, Jazzman’s Coffee, Scoreboard Café with Quiznos & Grill 155 and the 110 Madison Ave. Salon. Stop by, put up your feet and relax at anytime.
