New students move onto campus this weekend
Many Incoming Freshmen visited AC on Sneak Peek Day in July to meet their roommates, measure their rooms, sign-up for lofts, and to have fun.

ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College continues to grow as it welcomes an incoming freshman class of 500 students for the third year in a row. Enrollment is up from 800 students in 2005 to almost 1700 students expected for the fall 2010 semester.
Freshmen move to campus this Sunday, Aug. 15, and will begin their “Welcome Week” activities. Welcome Week consists of moving in, taking placement exams, orientation, exploring campus, making friends and participating in social events.
After students get settled into the dorms on Sunday, they will take part in the traditional matriculation ceremony, held this year in Dawson Auditorium. The matriculation ceremony, an annual tradition at British universities as well as some American colleges and universities, is a formal recognition of new students enrolling at the College and joining its community. Faculty, staff and administrators, dressed in regalia, will also participate.
Students will end Welcome Week with a trip that has become a tradition at the College. This year they will be travelling to Chicago instead of Mackinaw, which was the location of the trip for the past few years. On Thursday morning, Aug. 19, freshmen along with approximately 30 Adrian College staff, upperclassmen, and safety officers will board 11 coach buses and head to the windy city until Friday evening.
Adrian College is excited to welcome its newest students as well as all of the returning upperclassmen. Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 23. |
