Adrian College Announces Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs posted 6/8/10
Dr. Keith McCleary to be promoted
ADRIAN, Mich. - Adrian College is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Keith McCleary to assistant dean of academic affairs effective July 1, 2010. Dr. McCleary is an associate professor in the department of chemistry and has held many faculty leadership roles over his years of service.
“I am extremely pleased that Dr. McCleary will be joining the leadership team in the division of academic affairs at Adrian College,” says vice president and dean of academic affairs Dr. Agnes Caldwell. “Dr. McCleary brings excellence to this position through his teaching, research and leadership positions while a faculty member. I know he will make important contributions to the realization of Adrian’s Renaissance plan.”
Dr. McCleary joined the Adrian College faculty in the fall of 1997 as a chemistry professor, specializing in analytical chemistry. Prior to his arrival on campus, he worked in the chemical industry for DuPont Chemicals, Phillips Petroleum, and Hewlett-Packard.
"I am looking forward to adding my skills and abilities to those of Dean Caldwell's to make the College's vision for academic affairs move forward,” said McCleary. "I've been lucky to work with such a talented faculty that we have here at Adrian.”
McCleary says he hopes to assist the College's leadership to enhance the opportunities for them to continue their history of excellence.
Dr. McCleary received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan Technological University, (Houghton, Mich.) in 1988 and his Ph.D. in 1992 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, (“Virginia Tech”, Blacksburg, Va).
Dr. McCleary was awarded the Ross Newsom Award in 2007 for outstanding teaching. He has served as the president of the faculty from 2006-2007, the chair of the chemistry department, and an associate member of the College’s Board of Trustees. He lives with his wife Susan, and his daughters Isabel and Abigail, near Ann Arbor. |
