Bulldogs make field of
54 in NCAA Baseball Championship posted

AC earns at-large
bid and will travel to Rose-Hulman Institute
of Technology
The
Adrian College baseball team is one of 14 NCAA
Division III teams to earn an at-large bid and
will join 53 other teams in the post-season
field to play for the 2008 National Championship
as announced by the National Baseball Committee
on Monday.
The Bulldogs will travel once
again to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the
Mideast Regional hosted by the Rose-Hulman Institute
of Technology as the No. 5 seed. The regional
is made up of six teams representing the Ohio
Athletic Conference (OAC), the North Coast Athletic
Conference (NCAC), the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference (HCAC), and the Michigan
Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
The Mideast Regional is also the only regional
where each team will be entering with at least
30 wins on the season.
Heidelberg College (37-8)
will enter the regional as the top seed after
winning the OAC and earning the conference’s
automatic bid. The No. 2 will be the College
of Wooster (34-9), who earned an at-large bid
while winning the NCAC Eastern Division title.
MIAA champion Calvin College (32-8) will be
the third seed in the regional.
Regional host Rose-Hulman
(31-13) enters play this week with the No. 4
seed after gaining an at-large bid. The Bulldogs
(30-10) are the fifth seed, and HCAC champion
Transylvania (31-12) rounds out the regional
as the No. 6 seed.

on Wednesday with each team squaring off at
